PM2R Platform Mounted Twin Cylinder
A twin cylinder platform magneto can be supplied to fire the Scott two-stroke twin only at this time. This version of the magneto has to work particularly hard on the two-stroke twin as it runs at engine speed to provide two sparks for every revolution. We have developed a version of the new BT-H magneto to satisfy this arduous task. The prototype was developed following discussion with well known Scott engine builder and racer, Roger Moss. The picture (above) is of the latest single cylinder type produced. Twin versions are externally similar to the single cylinder unit but use two small external coils mounted in a convenient or unobtrusive position on the motor-cycle.
