Velocette Venom / Thruxton "Thurston" Crankcase

Manufactured as a close & honest reproduction of the late type 1965 to 1970 Velocette Venom / Thruxton / MSS / Viper crank case for Road Racing or standard road bikes.  Note: These cases have been extra heat treated.
Please note additional material has been added in known weak areas. Here are some of the main differences.
• Timing side main bearing housing added webbing top & over pump. 
• Timing side ‘top rear gearbox’ mount has had additional material to radius.
• Timing side 2nd breather hole from crank to timing chamber added.
• Timing side oil pump bore Ø1.6875” (1”11/16 interference fit)
• Drive side Ø3” bearing boss has been extended by 0.160” to include an Oil seal.
• Drive side bearing boss machined for 45mm rotary oil seal for use with Belt drive pulley.
• Drive side top front dynamo strap changed to Ø5/16 Whit thread.
• Drive side front dynamo strap changed to Ø1/4” Whit thread.
• Drive side chaincase fixing hole changed to Ø5/16” Whit thread.
• Additional 1/4” engine fixing at back of engine.
The change of threads from BSF to Whitworth are to encourage installation of studs rather than screwing bolts in and out of the alloy casting.
Sand cast in LM25TF fully heat treated Alloy.

August 2023,  70 pairs of crank cases have been sold to customers around the World from New Zealand, Australia, Japan, France, Holland, Germany, USA & Canada.

Please note if you do not want to use a Primary belt drive clutch kit we are happy to machine the drive side bearing boss to suit the M89/8 standard Venom / Thruxton / MSS 23 tooth sprocket.
